Billing Representative – Revenue Cycle

Compensation & Schedule
• $16/hour
• Full-time, 8-hour shifts Monday–Friday
• 6-month assignment with possible extension
• W2 employment
ROLE IMPACT
The Billing Representative supports accurate and timely hospital and professional claim submissions, ensuring compliance with payer requirements and organizational standards. This role directly impacts revenue cycle performance by reducing claim rejections, accelerating reimbursements, and maintaining integrity in billing practices.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Audit paper and electronic claims for coding and demographic accuracy using billing scrubber and payer edits
• Review and resolve electronic claim submission (ECS) rejections; make corrections and resubmit for payment
• Post charge corrections, credit/debit adjustments, and demographic updates to patient accounts
• Bill secondary or tertiary insurance claims as needed and ensure claims completeness before submission
• Handle paper processing of claims and medical records; perform additional billing support duties as assigned
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• 1+ year of medical billing or revenue cycle experience preferred
• Proficiency in basic computer use with the ability to learn billing systems quickly
• Strong attention to detail, organizational ability, and dependable attendance; able to work independently after training
• Reliable transportation required for onsite attendance
CORE TOOLS & SYSTEMS
• Billing scrubber / claim editing tools
• Electronic claims submission (ECS) platforms
• Microsoft Office or equivalent
• Healthcare billing and EMR systems
PREFERRED SKILLS
• Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial payer requirements
• Experience in hospital or professional billing environments
• Familiarity with HIPAA compliance and ethical billing practices
