The Renter Solutions department has an exciting opportunity for an Engineer 2 to be part of our Product Health technical team. The Product Health Team is responsible for the retention and maintenance of driver and loyalty profile information for EM customers, and making this data securely available to other services, solutions, and third-party vendors. You will be part of a technical team consisting of analysts, engineers, and other technical leaders responsible for a suite of applications and services, supporting Renter and Loyalty capabilities, using technologies such as Restful APIs, AWS Cloud, React, Oracle and Teradata.

1. Executive Summary

The role of Engineer 2 in the Product Health team involves designing, developing, and maintaining data-driven systems supporting customer and loyalty data across cloud-based platforms. This position focuses on data modeling, SQL tuning, and integrating security practices to ensure high-performance, scalable solutions aligned with business needs.

2. Required Skills and Experience

• Minimum of 6 years of experience in Data Model design and SQL development, including complex tuning and analysis.
• Proficiency with Teradata, including familiarity with DDL statements, and experience in data warehousing environments.
• Strong data analysis and data modeling skills, with knowledge of methodologies and best practices.
• Experience in data software engineering, preferably with Java, and familiarity with Big Data technologies.
• Hands-on experience with relational databases such as Oracle SQL.
• Understanding of cloud platforms, ideally AWS or Azure, for data integration and deployment.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate within a team to deliver complex data solutions.

3. Desired Skills and Experience

• Experience with API development and familiarity with build automation tools like Git and Jenkins.
• Knowledge of NoSQL databases and Big Data tools beyond traditional RDBMS.
• Prior experience in the vehicle or rental industry, particularly in IT rental domains.
• Experience working within Agile development methodologies.
• Certifications in cloud platforms, data engineering, or security are a plus.

4. Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related fields.
• Additional expertise in Java development for backend data processing.
• Familiarity with EHI IT rental or vehicle domain knowledge, though not mandatory.

5. Required Education

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Management Information Systems, or equivalent (preferred but not mandatory).
