Apply Today! **Job Summary and Qualifications** The Hospital Sanitation Specialist is responsible for the removal and transport of all recycling and waste which includes solid waste, regulated medical waste, universal waste, pharmaceutical, and RCRA/hazardous waste. What you will do: + You will be familiar with and adhere to policies related to storage, handling, and disposal of RMW (regulated medical waste), RCRA/Hazmat, solid waste, and universal waste. + You will maintain your Department of Transportation (DOT) and Hazardous Waste training. + You will clean waste holding and storage areas regularly. + You will deliver clean linen to appropriate locations and remove soiled linens as needed. + You will also help with the cleaning and preparing rooms before and after patients are discharged from the hospital. + You will be familiar with safety and sanitation requirements of a healthcare facility + You will appropriately utilize various supplies and resources to maintain a clean environment for all staff, patients, and visitors within the hospital. + You will store, handle, and dispose of materials and supplies used to perform your duties within the hospital and industry standards. This could include Hazmat, solid waste, and soiled linens. + You will be interacting with patients, families, visitors, and other hospital staff as you perform your duties. What qualifications you will need: + High School Graduate or Equivalent preferred + Experience in a healthcare setting highly preferred + At least 1 year of professional housekeeping or janitor experience preferred HCA Florida Highlands Hospital is a 126-bed acute hospital.
